Historic Rooms at Cricket St Thomas Hotel

Romantics will be drawn to our Historic rooms, where we’ve recreated a golden age of decadence. It’s all about the grand gesture here. Or upgrade to a Historic suite where you can look forward to a feature bed as well as a lounge area and sofa and period features like original fireplaces and wooden beams. But the devil's in the detail as well. The décor is refined and top-end extras come courtesy of The Signature Experience.

Review

We stayed in room 305 Lord Nelson Room. It has just been refurbished and it was lovely. This is in the old house up the grand staircase on the left. It is a large room with a huge and comfy bed, no problems getting to sleep here. The colour scheme is great. Large windows overlooking gardens, sun streaming in, the little we had at the time. The bathroom was very grand indeed with a roll top bath not that I used it as I was swimming daily. Husband used the huge shower and no complaints there. The animals have gone which was a shame, didn't realise that but read about it when we couldn't find them. The last time we stayed here the animals were on site. The grounds are extremely well kept and all looks great. We did the longest walk which actually takes you to the place where the animals used to be. Staff pleasant and we enjoyed our stay. It was a treat for my birthday which meant no cooking, washing and all the everyday things I didn't have to bother with. The food was good and looked nice. Since our last visit at this one the food seems to gone up a notch. We have stayed at other Warners in the last year but this one seemed the best food wise. Would love to stay again soon but want to check out Studley Castle first. One thing I couldn't get which I asked about was dairy free butter, soya milk is fine as it is served everywhere, but no dairy free butter. Now an observation NOT a criticism. Private parking included too.The lampshade in the room by the bathroom is on upside down. Fab stay would recommend to anyone.

A group of 10 of us came to Cricket St Thomas for afternoon tea to celebrate a colleagues maternity leave starting. We had a waiter called Steven and he was amazing, such a chatty guy that couldn't do enough for us. He was happy to take copious amounts of photos of the group which was really nice. The food was lovely and I'd definitely recommend to anyone I speak to. Thank you to Steven for making our afternoon memorable.
