Review

We went for a 3 night weekend break to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Hotel was good, set in wonderful grounds. We had a signature room that provided little extras i.e. bottle of wine, snacks etc. Food was excellent, serving either buffet meals or a la carte with good choices. Entertainment each evening was fabulous, comedy, musical show, resident band and tribute acts, all excellent. We loved every minute! Swimming pool, spa and treatments, games room and bar and late night disco if you wanted more. On offer also were excursions to garden centre, shops etc. Unfortunately yoga and pilates classes were not available although you could attend dance classes, archery, and others. The only downside for us was that we weren’t in the main house and part of the walkway to the restaurant was uncovered and on our weekend the weather was not good!! I would definitely recommend. All staff were helpful and friendly.

A very good setting and very well presented. From arrival to leaving we were looked after. The entertainment was great. Food and rooms 1st class with excellent service throughout. Good surroundings and grounds very well looked after which was a pleasure to walk around.

Having been to Cricket St.Thomas about two years ago, when we thought this was the best hotel in the Warner group, we decided to go again to see if the same high standard is being maintained. We were not disappointed. If anything it has got even better. The Signature room we had was very well decorated and comfortable bed with all mod cons expected in a high standard hotel room. The food in the Tree Top restaurant was excellent and the staff first class, especially our Rumanian waiter Cornel who considering it was his first day on the day we arrived was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for him. The evening entertainment was first class with a funny comedian Tank Sherman on Friday, Elvis tribute on Saturday and Michael Buble tribute on Sunday. We spent an enjoyable morning walking around the extensive grounds, even this time of the year.
We think we will upgrade this hotel in the Warner group to No.1 Plus.

We have visited many Warner hotels over the last 8 years, and always came away pleased with the food - both variety, and quality of cooking. Not this time. There is something wrong in the kitchen, I feel. The same vegetables every night, variably cooked. Cold starters and desserts have been clearly sitting on plates a long time - sauces dried onto plates are quite a giveaway. Such a pity - good meals used to be a given at Warner. Very good pastries at breakfast - until there were none available one morning. They were being careful regarding covid, and staff and guests were all pretty good at wearing masks indoors. The gardens are very well kept, and the site has many beautiful trees to enjoy.
